The Donda West Effect On Liposuction

When Kanye West’s mother succumbed to plastic surgery complications a hornet’s nest was released in international cosmetic surgery circles.

Mrs. West’s death is believed to be the result of a doctor’s inability to see through her heart disease and yet go ahead with a multiple plastic surgery operation. One of the treatments she had was a liposuction procedure.

Liposuction is a major elective cosmetic surgery as is well known and unless the patients have not got past the rigorous screening they are considered ineligible for treatment. Mrs. West was believed to have consulted an independent plastic surgeon who advised her against the surgery before she went to the doctor who would ultimately operate on her.

Lawmakers are currently pushing for a bill that could help avoid such unfortunate cases and put cosmetic surgery practices under stringent measures. The Donda West Bill has already been introduced and it requires the patient to produce a clean bill of health before being considered for liposuction or any other surgery.

In neighboring Canada, a similar torrent of medical checks and certifications have been in amendment following the death of a woman due to liposuction surgery complications.

Rather then being apprehensive about these measures, the Plastic Surgery Institute of California is pleased with the calls for better facilities and a higher level of professionalism in the practice. Visit us to know how you can benefit from the Donda West Effect.
